Is there an area in your life or a specific skillset that the enemy is attacking as you contemplate a career change? This exact thing could be an indication as to where the Lord is going to promote you next. For example, years ago I took a week to pray about homeschooling my daughters. During that week, I had three “teaching situations” that had negative results. One incident happened when I was teaching Sunday School and a child in my class bit another child. I had never had that happen before, nor have I since. I began to doubt my ability to teach after this incident. Then it dawned on me that I was praying about taking the leap to homeschool my children during the same time I “failed” as a teacher. Once I saw the enemy’s strategy, I immediately recognized that he was trying to keep me from the destiny and calling the Lord had for me in that season. What is the enemy doing in your life in this season? More importantly, what is the Lord doing in your life in this season? These are two questions that I encourage my clients to ask themselves when praying about a career change.
